Margaret Mitchell spent almost ten years finishing this works ,though she could not accept the reputation before she went to the heaven later, she won Pulitzer Prize in 1937 by GONE WITH THE WIND…
GONE WITH THE WIND takes place in the southern United States in the state of Georgia during the American Civil War and the Reconstruction Era that followed the war. The novels unfolds against the background of rebellion in southern states, Georgia among them, have declared their secession from the United States and formed the Confederate States of America, after Abraham Lincoln was elected president with no ballots from ten Southern states where slavery was legal. A dispute over states' rights has arisen involving enslaved African people who were the source of manual labor on cotton plantations throughout the South. The story opens in April 1861 at the "Tara" plantation, which is owned by a wealthy Irish immigrant family, the O'Haras.

Review:
GONE WITH THE WIND let me know what is strong and optimistic. When Scarlett was sixteen, she was refused by Ashley after she told him that she loved him. She did not hate Ashley and the world, she had no thought of death, and she still loved Ashley as usual. Later, she married Charlie who was not loved by Scarlett .Though she wanted to revenge Ashley; she sill put Ashley in the bottom of in her heart. Without any reason. When the south was always retreating the defeat, she was not scared by the tough circumstance. At that time, Melanie was about to be delivered and they had no help from others including Rhett who once helped them but left them to support the south .Through endless obstacles in the journey to Tara, they finally reached the destination. Scarlett was given the loss of her mother who caught the typhoid and her father who can not accept the truth that his wife left himself to live lonely, even the Tara though stood on the earth, Tara was not what it once to be. She strongly shoulder the responsibility to save Tara and all the life in the building. She was not the person who thought dancing everyday any longer. Instead she planted cotton, washed clothes and cooked by herself. Her skin and hands became red and rough from working outside. She did not complain but she was filled with happiness. Because they still be on in that time nobody can filled their stomach and Tara refreshed again in the great effort of her. How strong she was! When Bonnie died, and Bonnie took all hope of Rhett. Rhett could not support himself and left Scarlett, she was not defeated by the double harm from losing her love. Besides these she also lost Melanie who loved her so much and helped her. To our surprise, she prayed tomorrow is another day. Maybe a better life was waiting for her. How optimistic she was!
GONE WITH THE WIND not only wants to tell us what strong is but also wants us to learn how to be stronger and stronger. As we all know, there are a lot of obstacles are waiting for us in the journey to success, and we are easy to be defeated by the adversity, so we need to absorb Scarlett’s strong to let us go on. Sometimes the obstacle seems like could not be overcame; only we are strong enough and optimistic enough can we reach the success that we are long for so much. We know that strong is a great challenge to us, and it is easy to say learning to be strong but how to learn strong is so difficulty, so once determined to do something ,we should tell us again and again we must be strong, because this is the only key to reach success. Hope everyone really absorbs the merit and with the aid of being strong everyone can make their dream come true! No matter how terrible your life is, please do not complain and lose the direction of his or her life, just catch strong and pray tomorrow is another day as Scarlett did, and I believe the rainbow is approaching you!
