1. “我認為你們的保險單沒有規定對待火災造成的損失的保障。”

本題要求判斷說話人的身份。 如果只聽到隻言片語,如policy就會受到D: 政治家 的干擾, 或fire而受到B: 消防隊員 的干擾;只有聽清全文,聯絡上下文,才可判斷出這裡policy意思是“保險單,保險契約”,而非“政策”,也才能推測出其職業應為A: 保險代理人。

2. “儘管Susan在銀行有大筆存款, 但她的衣服卻一點兒也不時髦。”

由though引導的'表示讓步功能的分句, 暗示Susan儘管有錢卻不買時髦的衣服,即在衣服上花費不多,C最切合題意。 anything but: 除…之外,恰恰不,決不

另外:“needn’t do / don’t need to”表示沒有必要而不去做。

9. “在閱讀過程中, 我們必須從字裡行間領會隱含之意。”

in the course of …: 在…過程中

理解片語read between the lines: (從字裡行間﹑言詞﹑行動中) 領會言外之意﹑體會隱含之意 就不難理解本題的真實含義,從而選出正確答案B。
