端午又稱“重五”，所以很多習俗都和“五”這個數字有關聯。而且要用紅、黃、藍、白、黑五色絲線系在兒童的脖子、手腕或者足踝，稱為長命縷。
端午節的來歷/習俗都很多，說也說不完。其中有一個來歷是這樣的，古代有個詩人叫屈原，他受到壞人的誣陷，為了證明自己是清白的，他投汨羅江而死，主張愛國主義。後來的人們賽龍舟是為了撈救他，投粽子是為了讓魚蝦吃飽，不去吃屈原的遺體。
我們柳州過端午節的方式是：一大早，大家先去買艾葉和菖蒲掛在門口，再貼上紅紙。我奶奶還會包粽子，粽子的材料是豆子、板栗、豬肉。吃起來可香了!
