自從唐僧師徒西天取經回來後，個個列位仙班，不過天庭有規矩，每天早要上早朝。
這天，八戒匆忙趕到，卻發現早朝堂裡空無一人，連老師太上老君都沒來，他覺得很奇怪：這麼晚了，這裡怎沒沒人？可能不上早朝了，但他們都上哪兒去啦？想完，他就乘雲來到太上老君的府上，見老君不在府上，就東張西望，突然，他發現老君的書桌上有一些書，他便過去看，發現是英語書，正巧，老君來了，八戒問：“今天怎麼不上早朝？再說了，你們學英語幹嘛？”老君說：“今年玉帝讓我們去外國旅遊開開眼界，要學好英語，現在還有三個月期限，還上什麼早朝？趕快抓緊時間學英語吧！不學就晚啦！”八戒說：“原來如此！我要學，但讓哪兒學？”“去你大師兄在水簾洞辦的“悟空優級英語培訓班”呀！”“哈！這個猴子，什麼時候由神仙成英語高手了？”說完，他駕上雲彩來到水簾洞，只見水簾洞上面有一塊精美的大牌，上面寫著“優級英語培訓班”，底下又用英語寫了一遍，他進去一看，發現悟空正在上面講課，就走過去說：“猴哥，我來學英語了。”“呦！真是太陽從西邊出來了！你這懶鬼也知道學了！”“嘿！猴哥，我也有勤快的時候嘛！”“行，你找個位子坐下吧，只要你肯學，三個月後，你就可以去領揹包旅遊了。”八戒聽完，就像悟空要了一套學習英語的.用具，到一個座位上坐下了，由於悟空教得好管得嚴，八戒很快改掉了懶的毛病，他現在非常喜歡學英語，每天早拿一個饅頭就去上課了，結果休息時他在讀，甚至放學了他還在讀，早上帶的饅頭竟只吃了五分之一！
長期的刻苦努力終於換來了優秀成績，送行路上，玉帝拿出一份食品，裝到了八戒的揹包裡，又拍了拍他的肩膀，說：“這一份食品是你改掉毛病勤勞學習的獎勵！”八戒聽了，不好意思的笑了。

記得有一次寫一號本作業，我寫得很認真，又讓媽媽來回幫我檢查了幾遍，覺得胸有成竹，沒有什麼錯了，於是第二天滿懷信心地把作業本交給了楊老師。只見楊老師拿著紅筆，一行一個勾，中間幾乎沒有什麼停頓，我想：楊老師改作業可真快呀！這時，楊老師突然停住了筆，我想：哎呀，是不是什麼地方有錯了，但不會呀，我和媽媽昨天明明查了好幾遍，不應該有錯呀！只見楊老師在一個單詞上畫了一個圈，然後把本子遞給我說：“嗯，不錯，只錯了一個，有進步！”我拿回本子，然後對著書一看，哎呀，兩個字母顛倒了，真錯了，楊老師的“火眼金睛”可真厲害！
還有一次，週三下午放學後，因我的《評價手冊》沒寫完，被楊老師叫到了辦公室，我找了一個位置坐下來繼續寫，楊老師在一旁批改作業，辦公桌上堆了滿滿高高的作業本，我不禁讚歎，楊老師的工作量可真大呀！於是我更加認真地寫起來，不想給她添麻煩。當我把本子交上去，還有一題不小心寫錯了，楊老師就耐心、仔細地給我講解，一會兒我就全懂了。
