The job of raising children is a tough one. Children don't come with an instructionmanual. And each child is different. So parents sometimes pull their hair out in frustration, notknowing what to do. But in raising children-as in all of life-what we do is influenced by ourculture. Naturally then, American parents teach their children basic American values.

For example, "time outs" have become popular inrecent years. Children in "time out" have to sit in a corner or by a wall. They can get up onlywhen they are ready to act nicely. Older children and teenagers who break the rules may begrounded, or not allowed to go out with friends. Some of their privileges at home-like TV ortelephone use-may also be taken away for a while. Although discipline isn't fun for parents orchildren, it's a necessary part of training.

Being a parent is a tall order. It takes patience, love, wisdom, courage and a good sense ofhumor to raise children (and not lose your sanity). Secondly, they can take advantage of this opportunity to gain a good command of the foreign language they are learning very quickly. Moreover, they can meet different people and experience different cultures, which may help to broaden their views.
Every coin has two sides. The negative aspects are also apparent. The costs are much higher than those in their native country. Most overseas students have to work for a living, which can’t allow them to pay all their attention to study. What’s more, they may feel very lonely.
Through above analysis, we can see that the positive aspects outweigh the negative ones. Therefore, I am in favor of going abroad to study.
