(1)審題要清
看到考題後，先不要急於動筆，要仔細看清題目要求的內容。在自己的頭腦中構思出一個框架或畫面，確定短文的中心思想，不要匆匆下筆，看懂題意，根據提供的資料和資訊來審題。審題要審格式、體裁、人物關係、故事情節、主體時態、活動時間、地點等。
(2)要點明確
要點是給分的一個重要因素。為了防止寫作過程中遺漏要點，同學們要充分發揮自己的觀察力，把情景中給出的各個要點逐一羅列出。
(3)列出提綱
為寫作做好準備。根據文章要點短文的中心思想將主要句型、關鍵詞語記下，形成提綱。
(4)寫順全文
寫短文時要做到五個方面：
1.避免使用漢語式英語，儘量使用自己熟悉的句型。
2.多用簡單句型，記事、寫人一般都不需要複雜的句型。可適當多使用陳述句、一般疑問句、祈使句和感嘆句。不用或少用非謂語或獨立主格結構等較複雜的句型。
3.注意語法、句法知識的靈活運用。語態、時態要準確無誤;主謂語要一致，主語的人稱和數要和謂語一致;注意冠詞用法，例如：IttakesTomhalfanhourtogotoschoolbybus.中的an不能寫成a;注意拼寫，例如：fourteen，forty，ninth等不要寫成forteen，fourty，nineth等;注意標點符號和大小寫。
4. 描寫人物時，要生動具體，可以選擇使用下列詞彙，例如：外形：tall，short，fat，thin，strong，weak，pretty等;顏色：red，yel-low，blue，white，green，brown，black等;心情：glad，happy，sad，excited，anxious，interest-ed等;情感：love，like，hate，feel，laugh，cry，smile，shout等。
5.上下文要連貫。同學們應把寫好的句子，根據故事情節，事情發生的先後次序(時間或空間)，使用一些表示並列、遞進等過渡詞進行加工整理，使文章連貫、自然、流暢。同學們應注意下面過渡的用法：並列關係：and，aswellas，or…;轉折關係：but，yet，how-ever…;時間關係：when，while，after，before，then，afterthat…;因果關係：so，there-fore，asaresult…;目的：inorderto，inorderthat，soasto，sothat…;列舉：forexample，suchas…;總結性：ingeneral，inall，inaword，generallyspeaking…
(5)沒有病句
中考作文時，由於時間緊、內容多，同學們出錯在所難免。因此，改錯這一環節必不可少。中考作文評卷是根據要點、語言準確性、上下文的連貫性來給分，根據錯誤多少來扣分。因此中考時花幾分鐘時間用來檢查錯誤顯得尤為重要。檢查錯誤應從以下幾個方面入手：
看字數是否達到要求，看有無遺漏要點。
看文體格式是否正確規範。
看有無語法或用詞上的錯誤。
看單詞拼寫、字母大小寫是否有錯，標點符號有無遺漏或用錯等等。
注意時態、語態、人稱是否上下文一致。
(6)先打草稿
考試中，書面表達應做到先打草稿，寫完後多讀幾遍，檢查是否有誤，然後再抄到試卷上，注意字跡要工整，不塗、不畫、不勾不抹，避免不必要的扣分。

By making marginal notes on a book, we mean "write between the lines" in the book when we read. Many people know that we have to "read between the lines" to get the most out of anything. In my opinion, "write between the lines" are even more important in the course of reading, and we are not likely to do the most efficient kindof reading unless we make marginal notes on the book.
Making marginal notes on the book is indispensable for the following reasons. First, it keeps us wide awake. If reading is accomplishing anything more than passing time, it must be active. We can't just let our eyes glide across the lines of a book and come up with an understanding of it. In the second place, reading, if it is active, is thinking, and thinking tends to express itself in words, spoken or written. The marked book is usually the thought through book. Finally, writing helps us remember the thought we had, or the thought the author expressed. The physical act of writing, with our own hand, brings words and sentences more sharply before our mind and preserves them better in our memory.
So if you have the habit of making marginal notes on the book when you read, keep at it. If you don't have the habit, start right now.
